WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police have arrested two people after officers say they found three children at a West Ashley home filled with drugs.
The Charleston Police Department charged 39-year-old Raynard Simmons and 32-year-old Quinesha Grant with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and three counts of unlawful conduct towards a child.
On Thursday night, police executed a search warrant at an apartment on North Avalon Circle where three children were found living.
Authorities say they also found a digital scale, a marijuana cigarette in a bedroom closet, 14 grams of cocaine in a kitchen drawer, 2 grams of marijuana in another kitchen drawer, 3 ounces of marijuana in a kitchen cabinet and 2 empty 9mm magazine clips on a kitchen shelf.
Investigators say they also found a 9mm round in a speaker box in one of the bedrooms.
The Department of Social Services responded to the home as well.
