CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Another suspect has been charged and new details have emerged in the shooting outside an upper Meeting Street gas station which left one man dead and two people injured this month.

Charleston Police Department investigators charged 22-year-old Jonathan Decota Williams with unlawful carrying of a firearm on Friday.

Investigators say Williams and the Summerville man who died, 22-year-old Don’ta Pringle, had just left the Music Farm when the early July 14 shooting happened at the Exxon gas station at 420 Meeting Street. According to the venue's website, they were holding an event called "Summer Saturdays."

Police say Williams was standing outside the Music Farm on Ann Street when he saw someone leave a handgun on top of a tire of one of the vehicles parked nearby. Williams took the gun and he, Pringle, and three other friends left to go to the gas station to talk to some women, according to investigators.

While they were at the gas station, a dark-colored SUV rolled by around 2 a.m., and 29-year-old Glendell Gladden was seen exiting the passenger side of the vehicle. Also inside the vehicle were 23-year-old Brian Ancrum, the driver, and 21-year-old Omary Rashad Kornickey, police said.

The SUV then turned onto Wolfe Street, and about three minutes later, investigators say Pringle was fatally shot by a suspect hiding behind a wall near the parking lot.

Pringle’s friends then loaded him into their vehicle and tried to take him to the hospital. While they were driving off, police said Williams pulled out the gun and fired retaliatory shots from the direction of where the suspect was hiding.

An innocent bystander was struck by one of the shots, police say. That person and another victim were taken to area hospitals to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say more shots were fired from the dark SUV at the corner of Woolfe and Nassau streets.

Kornickey, Ancrum, and Gladden are all charged with murder and attempted murder. They are being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.

Williams was released from jail over the weekend after being issued a $50,000 bond on the weapons charge.

Police say Ancrum and Williams both live on Tripe Street in West Ashley. Kornickey lives on King Street and Gladden lives on Robinhood Drive, also in West Ashley, according to investigators.

The case is still under investigation. Police have not released a motive for the shooting.

It was the second reported shooting that week that followed an event at the Music Farm. Arcainan Gamble, 23, was arrested and charged with shooting at a car on Interstate 26 early July 12. The victims in the car said they were leaving a Rich Homie Quan show at the Music Farm when Gamble opened fire on their vehicle.

Gamble was charged with attempted murder and released on a $100,000 bond.
