NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 29-year-old man Summerville man is accused of uploading porn to digital picture frames at a department store in North Charleston Sunday morning.
The North Charleston Police Department charged David Wright Jr. with dissemination of pornography in public.
On 11 a.m. on Sunday, a police officer responded to the Target on 7250 Rivers Avenue.
Store personnel told the officer that Wright was in the electronics section of the store, placed a flash drive in two digital picture frames and uploaded pornographic material on them.
According to store officials, Wright was in the store on June 24 and uploaded some pornographic material, but they did not notice the material until the suspect had already left the store.
When officers made contact with Wright, police say he was taking a flash drive out of a digital picture frame and said that he was trying to see how it worked. Wright was then brought to the loss prevention office in front of the store.
A police sergeant then responded to the scene, read Wright his Miranda rights and placed him under arrest for dissemination of pornography in public. According to a police report, when the responding officer stepped into the hallway to speak with the sergeant, Wright grabbed his Touch iPod and deleted the entire contents of the iPod.
Wright was locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
