SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The fiancée of a Summerville man shot dead three months ago, found out she was going to have his child a few days before the murder.

Dorchester County sheriff's investigators have no leads in the April 6, 2012 murder of Johnny Young and the case has gone cold.

"It was gonna be nice, it was you know, just to be starting a new life," Tara Spann said

Young, 38, was found on the kitchen floor at the couple's home on Hope Drive.

On the morning of the murder Spann said Young put gas in her car before she went out of town for the day.

"And it was just I love you, see you later," she recalled him saying.

Spann was in Manning when she got the phone call something bad had happened to Young.

Spann was hoping he was just sick.

"It didn't matter how sick he was you know? Just let him be okay. I was kind of preparing for the worst."

When Spann got to the house, her worst fears came true.

Young was on the kitchen floor, dead, shot three times, according to the coroner.

"I just don't understand why it happened, like he was such a nice person and he was so good to me and he was so good to everybody," Spann said. "I don't think they knew what they did, you know?"

Spann is frightened the killer is still on the run.

"It's scary to know that somebody would just go into someone's house and kill him where you're most comfortable. You're at home, you feel safe."

She is convinced several people know why young was murdered and by whom.

"Just tell what happened and let that person face the consequences for what they did because they took a really good person."

Spann and Young were scheduled to be married this coming Sunday.
