CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have arrested two men suspected of burglarizing a downtown pizza shop Wednesday morning.
The Charleston Police Department has arrested 45-year-old Daniel Eric Wright and 44-year-old Samuel Wilson. Police say the two men were arrested minutes after they burglarized Zappos Pizza on 708 King Street.
The incident happened around 5 a.m. when someone used a large rock to shatter the glass of the front door to Zappos Pizza. The owner was inside of the business when it happened and called the police.
Police say the owner then saw two men walk away from the front door of his business. A police report states that after officers stopped the two men, the owner positivily identified the two as the ones who committed the burglary.
Officers say the suspects were found with two 20 ounce soft drinks and a bag of chips that were taken during the burglary.
Wright was transported to MUSC by EMS for a laceration to his right hand and his right shoulder. Police say the injuries were sustained during the burglary.
Wright was charged with first-degree burglary, while Wilson was charged with second-degree burglary. Both suspects were locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
