JAMES ISLAND (WCSC) - Charleston County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man who they say used a gun to rob a convenience store Monday evening.
Deputies say a black male entered Starfish Mart at 1648 Folly Road around 7:30 p.m. with a gun in hand demanding money and a pack of cigarettes. The store clerk says the suspect left the scene on foot after he was given around $100 in cash and the cigarettes he wanted.
Deputies used a K-9 to search for the suspect, but lost his track on Grimball Road.
The suspect is described as a 5'9 to 6'0, around 160 pounds and a muscular build. The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and a red and black baseball cap.
