WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a First Federal bank in West Ashley around 12:15 p.m. on Friday.
According to the Charleston Police Department, the suspect went to the bank on 1309 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. and implied he had a weapon.
"I was in the [bank] and saw the guy in there, but didn't pay any attention to him," said Albert Smalls, a customer at the bank. "And it didn't dawn on me that he was there to rob the bank. I didn't realize he was robbing the bank, until I came out and that's when everybody was saying the bank got robbed."
Authorities describe the suspect as a white male between 40 and 50 years old, 5'7", 160 pounds, wearing a khaki type cap, a white T-shirt, cargo khaki shorts, white socks and black tennis shoes.
No injuries were reported.
