NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Two people were sent to the hospital after a high-speed chase ended in a wreck Saturday night.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a Charleston County sheriff's deputy was pursuing an SUV on Interstate 526.
During the chase authorities say the fleeing vehicle exited Dorchester Road where it ran a red light and collided with a van. The suspect's car then caught fire and the driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to MUSC.
The driver of the van was also transported to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries.
This incident remains under investigation.
