WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a 24-year-old man accused of exposing himself to a girl at an apartment in West Ashley Tuesday morning.

The Charleston Police Department charged Kyle Edward Owens with disseminating obscene material to a person under age 18 and exposure of private parts in a lewd and lascivious manner.

At 2:40 a.m., officers responded to an apartment on Royal Palm Boulevard in reference to a rape that was reported.

When officers arrived they met with the victim, a juvenile female, and the caller, who said that Owens exposed his private parts to the girl.

Officers say the girl seemed distraught and was crying.

The girl said that she was picked up by the caller to come and stay at her home for the night. The victim said that Owens tried to show her pornographic material shortly after she arrived.

According to the victim, he committed sexual acts on himself in front of her while playing pornographic material.

Owens was locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
