WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a heated argument between a boyfriend and his girlfriend led to a murder and suicide along the side of a road in Williamsburg County.
Sheriff Michael Johnson said it happened around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the Bloomingvale and Warsaw community, a few miles from Andrews.
A 15-year-old boy heard a gunshot and screams coming from a car along Highway 527. A short time later, he found the bodies of a man and woman lying in a ditch.
The sheriff says 52-year-old Christopher White shot and killed 48-year-old Merlene Nesmith Martin before turning the gun on himself.
