CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police are looking for 35 year old Deon Antonio Rambert.
Rambert is wanted on a charge of financial transaction card forgery in connection with some car break ins during which credit cards were stolen.
"Mr. Rambert was stopped at a traffic stop at the corner of Poplar Street and King Street. At the time he was found to be in possession of a number of credit cards that did not belong to Mr. Rambert," said Charleston Police Cpl. Fred Bowie.
Bowie said at the time of the traffic stop, the cards had not been reported stolen.
Investigators soon found out the truth.
"They found the cards were actually stolen in an attempted break in in Mt. Pleasant," Bowie said.
The cards were stolen from two car break ins, according to police.
"Very lucky that night because if those cards had been reported stolen at that particular time he would have been arrested on the spot," Bowie explained.
Rambert stands 5'9" and weighs about 150 lbs.
His last known address was 1166 King Street.
