BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies are on the lookout for a 27-year-old man wanted for child endangerment and drug dealing charges.

On April 26, the Berkeley County Drug Enforcement Unit attempted a traffic stop on a Honda Sedan that was seen speeding and crossing a double yellow line on Highway 311 in the Cross area of Berkeley County.

Investigators say the driver, 27-year-old Jonathan Latrelle Jamison, pulled the car onto a dirt road, stopped the vehicle in the backyard of a home and fled on foot leaving the passenger, 26-year-old Tremaine Jerome White, and an unrestrained 3 year old child behind.

White was charged with trafficking cocaine and cocaine base and simple possession of marijuana.

Investigators are still searching for Jamison who is wanted on multiple charges including child endangerment, driving under suspension, trafficking cocaine base and felon in possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The child was taken into custody by the Department of Social Services.
