CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police now say two people were victims in a shooting in downtown Charleston on Thursday evening.
The Charleston Police Department says the shooting happened in the area of Rutledge Avenue and Grove Street around 6:30 p.m.
On Thursday, investigators said a woman was sitting in her vehicle near the intersection when she was shot in the leg after two males got into a confrontation and one of them began firing a gun at the other.
On Friday, police say the shooter actually hit his intended target as well, who showed up to MUSC suffering from a gunshot wound.
Both the woman and the man were treated and released from MUSC.
Neighbors have reported hearing as many as 8 to 10 gun shots.
The suspect is described as a black male, with a medium complexion, between 20-25 years old, standing between 5'10" and 6' tall and weighing between 150–180 pounds.
He was last seen running south on Rutledge Avenue near Grove Street wearing black shorts and a black, cut-off t-shirt.
