SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Over $3,000 worth of guns and ammo were stolen from a Charleston County Sheriff's Office vehicle in Summerville last Friday, an incident report states.
Summerville Police Department officers responded to a home on Southport Drive on Mar. 30 after receiving reports of a theft from a sheriff's office-issued 2010 Ford Explorer. Upon arrival, the victim told police someone had gone into his service vehicle and taken a number of items, including guns and ammo.
The incident report states a Taurus pistol with a scope, a Glock 22 pistol, a .12-gauge shotgun, and a Colt M4 rifle were stolen along with ammo. The victim's iPhone was also stolen, the report states.
The thieves left behind a bulletproof vest, a Taser, and the man's wallet and radio, according to the report. Officials listed the total value of all the items stolen at $3,600.
Officers said a pair of discarded, clear gloves were found a few houses down from the scene.
