NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police have arrested one man and are looking for two other suspects in connection to an armed robbery at a retail store in North Charleston.
The North Charleston Police Department charged 19-year-old Shan Donte Thomas Jr. with armed robbery.
Officers responded to the Maxway on 5431 Dorchester Rd. Sunday night in reference to an armed robbery. According to one of the victims, the first suspect came into the store and went to the clothing aisle to select items.
The suspect then knocked on the office door, asked a question then walked to the cashier. Police say the suspect then said,"Listen here, now, listen, this is what's up."
According to authorities, the suspect reached towards his waistband and acted as if he had a gun and demanded money. The victim said that the suspect then took money and left the store.
When officers looked at the surveillance video, a second suspect was spotted in the store as a look out. Other witnesses also told officers that there was a third suspect wearing a red shirt. Surveillance video from a store across the street revealed a man in a red shirt pacing back and forth in front of the store.
Police are continuing the investigation.
