GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC)- Authorities in Georgetown County are asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Murrells Inlet convenience store.
Georgetown County Sheriff's Office officials say the robbery happened at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday at Kangaroo Convenience Store on the corner of Highway 707 and Highway 17 Bypass.
Deputies say a man entered the Kangaroo Station armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the employee.
The suspect is described as an older white male with a scruffy beard who was wearing a navy blue ski mask, long sleeve camouflage shirt, blue jeans and army boots.
Deputies say the suspect exited through the front door and fled on foot around the south side of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident.
The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Bloodhound Tracking Team responded to the scene and led handlers to Briggs Street off of Wilcox Avenue where the bloodhounds lost the trail.
