SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Shots were fired inside a Summerville bar from the parking lot early Monday morning, but luckily no one was injured.
Dorchester County sheriff's deputies were called to the 50 Yard Line, a sports bar on Dorchester Road, around 2:25 a.m. Monday. Deputies say five shots were fired at the bar and the employees inside.
The assistant manager of the bar told deputies that about 20 to 25 people were at the bar when it closed at 2 a.m. Employees told the customers they had to leave and the crowd complied and left.
While the employees were cleaning up, they heard several gunshots coming from outside in the parking lot. Two of the front glass windows of the bar were shot out and deputies discovered bullet holes during their investigation.
Deputies interviewed several employees about the incident and all said that the customers were peaceful throughout the night.
Investigators recovered a slug behind the money machine in the bar and two copper jacketed rounds by the stage. A single bullet casing was found in the parking lot, about 70 yards from the bar. Deputies concluded that five shots were fired at the bar and the employees inside.
Deputies observed a burgundy Ford Explorer leaving the scene that may have been involved in the incident.
