Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - On Wednesday, January 25th 2012 North Charleston Police Officers in the area of Highway 78 and Interstate 26 attempted to execute a traffic violation stop on the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (Antonio Myers). The driver of the vehicle stopped and immediately ran from the vehicle but was
apprehended by officers in a wooded area following a brief foot pursuit. Officers also recovered a quantity of drugs in the area of the arrest.

The investigation led officers to the suspect’s home at 4447 Mixedwood Drive in Charleston County as well as an apartment complex on Highway 78 in North Charleston. Following the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, officers recovered 35 pounds of marijuana (street value of nearly $159,000.00) and a significant amount of cash inside of the residence.

Officers also recovered 51 pounds of marijuana (street value of nearly $232,000.00)
from a Highway 78 apartment used by the suspect Antonio Myers (06-29-82) of 4447 Mixedwood Drive is charged with possession with the intent to distribute
marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within ½ mile proximity of a school. Myers was also charged by Charleston County Sheriffs with trafficking marijuana.

Montae Seabrook (05-18-82) and Richard German (11-07-77), both of 9525 Highway 78, North Charleston, are charged with trafficking marijuana.

All three subjects were transported and lodged at the CCDC pending bond hearings.
The North Charleston Police Department was assisted by the Charleston County Metro Unit, and Charleston County Canine units.
