NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a Subway in North Charleston Wednesday afternoon.
The North Charleston Police Department responded to the restaurant on 5633 Dorchester Rd. around 2:30 p.m. for a reported robbery.
Investigators say a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. When the cashier could not open the cash drawer, another employee was called and the employee opened the drawer.
The victim gave the suspect the money from the drawer and the suspect fled on foot from the business. Officers searched the area around the business, but the suspect was not located.
Police describe the suspect as a black male wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, dark in color pants, and a black do-rag covering his head.
