CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police have charged another suspect in an armed robbery and burglary which occurred in early-November at a Rutledge Avenue apartment.
James Brown, 17, is charged with armed robbery, burglary first degree and possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a violent crime. He being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
On Monday, Charleston police officers arrested 24-year-old William Lee Smalls and 20-year-old Aldean Cordell Wright, both from North Charleston.
Smalls is charged with armed robbery and burglary first degree and Wright is charged with armed robbery, burglary first degree, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a violent crime, and simple possession of marijuana.
Police say the Nov. 10 incident began around 9:40 p.m. when one of the victim's began talking with Smalls and Wright outside of his apartment. Both victims then walked with the men to the front door of their apartment, according to officers.
Police say that just as the victims were inside the apartment with Smalls and Wright, Brown and three other unknown suspects entered the residents and forced everyone to the floor.
During the incident, investigators say Smalls and Wright got up from the floor and joined the other suspects in robbing the victims.
