NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police officers have arrested a man suspected of robbing a gas station at gunpoint Saturday.
Police arrested 17-year-old Kashaun Banks after he was located near the crime scene with items linking him to the robbery.
Officers responded to the Exxon convenience store on Rivers Avenue just before 10 p.m. Saturday in reference to an armed robbery.
Witnesses say the suspect, armed with a large brown and black handgun, entered quickly from the rear entrance. Police say the suspect then pointed the gun at the victim and demanded cash.
The suspect then took money and left the business.
The suspect fled the store on foot and was later located by police after a search of the area. Banks is charged with armed robbery.
