PICKENS, SC (WCSC) -

Police say they have located the body of a former Clemson student from Summerville. According to the police chief in Central, the body of Bryan Keith Askew was found in Pickens Friday night.

Around 6:11pm, investigators received a phone call from the Pickens County Sheriffs Office about possibly locating Askew off West Old Pendleton Road in the woods. The sheriff's office received a phone call from someone that was walking in the woods and walked up on Askew who was unresponsive.

"There doesn't appear to be any foul play at this time, but we will wait for the coroner's office to do an autopsy and investigation on the body before we can say for sure," said Police Chief Kerry Avery.

Askew was last seen at the Summit Apartments in the Town of Central.

Investigators say his wallet, keys and laptop were left in his apartment but his cellphone was gone. The area around the apartment complex has been searched several times including twice this week.

Police say cellphone records show Askew hasn't made any calls since the day he disappeared.
