SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are looking for a man they say used a taser or a stun gun on a woman during an attempted armed robbery at a Summerville Dollar General.
The incident happened at the store located on Central Avenue around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office.
Upon arrival, the 22-year-old victim told officers that she was ringing up a customer where she heard a voice from behind her say, "Give me all the money." The victim said she turned around to find a black male wearing a red and black baseball-style hat with a redshirt covering his face, holding a black object.
The victim said she thought the man was holding a gun so she attempted to open the register but when the assailant became impatient he shocked her. The woman said she fell to the ground and the customer she had been helping tried to open the register but was also unsuccessful.
The victims said the man then ran out of the store and into a wooded area to the right of the building, where deputies found the man's hat and red t-shirt he wore during the attempted robbery.
