WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Burglars made off with $15,000 worth of sunglasses from a West Ashley eyeglass store after a Labor Dar weekend break-in.
The store manager of Jackson-Ard Vision Center at St. Andrews Shopping Center reported more than $15,000 worth of sunglasses stolen after the store was broken into.
During the investigation, officers discovered that the Mattress Firmstore nearby was also broken into, but nothing was reported stolen.
According to a Charleston police report, the manager said he closed the store around 2 p.m. Saturday, but when he returned Tuesday, he found the back door pried open.
The manager told police that 41 pairs of Costa del Mar sunglasses and 25 pair of Maui Jim sunglasses were taken from the display cases. The total value is estimated to be $15,101.
The manager told investigators that about $20 in change was also taken from the cash register.
No arrests have been made.
