LORIS, SC (WMBF) A three-year-old has died after an accidental shooting on Saturday morning.
Horry County Police officers were dispatched to the Red Bluff area of Loris to a reported accidental shooting around 8:15 a.m. this morning. A call to 911 earlier reported that a three-year-old had accidentally shot himself and his condition was very serious.
The child was transported to Grand Strand Regional Hospital, and later pronounced dead.
An investigation by Horry County Police revealed that the child was in a vehicle with his mother and her boyfriend close by. The child found the gun in the vehicle.
An investigation by Horry County Police is ongoing, and the decision to press criminal charges is forthcoming.
