CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a suspicious fire inside an outbuilding owned by The Post and Courier of Charleston.

Media outlets reports that the fire was discovered early Saturday morning in a 20-gallon trash can.

Mitzi Brown, a distributor for the paper, says it looks like someone wrapped a pencil in a napkin, set it on fire and put it in the trash barrel.

The fire was out by the time police arrived, and no one was hurt.

Over the last decade, 57 homes in the downtown area have been set on fire in an unsolved string of arsons. Police investigating the fire at the newspaper building wouldn't say whether they suspect it's related those intentionally-set blazes.
