HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - Deputies arrested one man last week and are looking for another after seizing almost $65,000 worth of marijuana during a traffic stop and subsequent search at a home in Hanahan.
Agents with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested 29-year-old Shawn Kowacich on Thursday after they found 14.5 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags in his vehicle.
Officers then executed a search warrant at 7414 Painted Bunting Way where they found 6 more sealed bags full of marijuana, $6,000 in cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Kowacich is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Authorities are still looking for 31-year-old Brian Verbarg, who resides at the home on Bunting Way. He is wanted for trafficking marijuana.
