WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Walterboro police are looking for a suspect accused of punching a girl five to seven times and burning her with a lighter.
The mother of a female victim reported an incident to the Walterboro Police Department on Friday and investigators are now looking for Jaamel Reshaun Davis on charges of violent child abuse.
The mother told investigators that when the victim returned home Friday, a man punched her in the arm. The victim then laughed at him. When she laughed, Davis allegedly told her "he will give her something to laugh at" and started to repeatedly punch her in the arm.
After about five to seven punches, the victim says the offender grabbed a lighter and tried to burn her three times on the arm. He was successful with one of the attempts.
The victim was able to run out of the room. Davis is wanted on charged of violent child abuse.
