BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -
Berkeley County school officials have lifted the lock down on Berkeley High School.
Berkeley schools spokeswoman Kathie Sizemore also said that Berkeley Alternative and Berkeley Elementary were both also put under lock down for a brief period of time, but the lock down had been lifted there as well.
We are still wating to hear whether the lock down has been lifted at St. John's Christian Academy.
Reports circulated earlier Friday that a man threatened to shoot or kill people at a school Friday morning.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office says a man walked into the Scotchman on Highway 6 in Moncks Corner and threatened to go shoot or kill people at a school.
Deputies are searching for the suspect.
According to Berkeley County schools spokeswoman Kathie Sizemore, placing a school on lock down is a precautionary measure whenever any suspicious activity is in the area of a school. Students are kept in their classrom during a lockdown.
