NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police detained three people during a traffic stop Thursday and are now searching for a possible meth lab.
According to authorities, a North Charleston police officer pulled over a suspicious vehicle near Peppermill Parkway and Ashley Phosphate Road.
After making contact with the driver of the car, the officer detected a strong odor. The officer said the odor was possibly associated with the production of methamphetamine.
The North Charleston Police Department, fire department and the Drug Enforcement Agency are investigating a location in the same area to determine if it was being used as a meth lab.
Three people have been detained.
