WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say two teenagers armed with guns jumped a boy for his shorts. The Walterboro Police Department charged a 16-year-old and 14-year-old boy for third-degree assault and battery and unlawful carrying of a pistol.
Officers responded to an address on Jefferies Boulevard in reference to an assault Tuesday night. The victim told officers that he was walking down the road in his boxer shorts when three people jumped him and took his shorts.
According to investigators, they were able to locate the suspects walking at a fast pace near the incident location.
The 14-year-old suspect told officers that he was involved in the altercation with the victim, but that the victim rushed him. Authorities say the suspect was nervous and would not face the officer.
When asked if they had any weapons, the 14-year-old said he had a knife. At that point, the 16-year-old suspect reached in his pants and took out a loaded revolver and tossed it behind him, a police report states. Police say that the revolver's serial numbers were filed off.
Officers say they also located a small unloaded black pistol sticking out of the 14-year-old's front right pocket.
