WALTERBORO, SC - A man was shot in Walterboro early Saturday morning while he was working at a construction site.
The 64-year-old victim called 911 around 4:43 a.m. after being shot three times from behind. Bullets struck the victim in the shoulder and head area according to Sheriff George A. Malone.
Deputies and Walterboro Public Safety workers responded after receiving the call from the victim. He was transported by Colleton County Fire and Rescue workers to Colleton Regional Hospital. The victim was then flown to a medical facility in the Charleston area.
The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is still trying to track down the suspect in this case. The investigation is ongoing, and sheriff's deputies have not determined a motive for the shooting.
