SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - One man is in custody after Dorchester County sheriff's deputies say he fired several gun shots through the front door of a Summerville apartment and shot another man.

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Tyriek Wise, of Summerville in connection with a shooting that happened at an Orangeburg Road apartment. When officers arrived on scene they found the victim holding a wrapped towel around his arm. The towel was soaked in blood from a gunshot wound.

Officers also discovered two bullet holes through the front door. The victim was shot in the arm and abdomen.

The victim told police that he and two others were sitting in the apartment when they heard a knock on the door. The victim answered the door and saw a man standing outside the door. The man, later identified as Wise, began to try and force his way into the apartment. Wise allegedly tried to kick the door in.

One of the other men inside the apartment came to the victim's aid and tried to help keep the door shut by pushing it closed. Police say several shots were then fired through the door and the victim was shot in the left arm.

When officers arrived, the victim gave a description of the suspect who was later apprehended in the area. Wise was found to be in possession of a handgun, which was report stolen from Lincolnville, and two bags of marijuana.

Wise was transported to the criminal investigation division and is charged with unlawful carrying of a firearm, possession of a stolen gun and simple possession of marijuana.
