COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting that's left one person dead.
It happened around 1:45 a.m. Friday on Hendersonville Highway. According to Sheriff George Malone, a 911 call came in to The Colleton County Sheriff's Office stating a young black man ran up to their home asking for medical help.
Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene and found the victim had been shot. The victim died at the scene. His car was found a short distance down the road on Hendersonville Highway in southern Colleton County.
The Sheriff's Office has blocked off a section of Hendersonville Highway near the Hendersonville Elementary School while they process the crime scene.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
