GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Several law enforcement agencies in the Tri-County searched the Red Bank Road area of Goose Creek Friday after a man was shot and the suspect fled.
According to Goose Creek police, a man was shot in the leg at 3 p.m. inside 106 Bar and Grill located at 106 Red Bank Road.
The suspect fled on foot toward The Oaks subdivision, according to police. Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, the North Charleston Police Department and the Charleston County Sheriff's Office helped set up a perimeter around the area between Redbank Road, US 52 and NAD Road.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office K-9 team attempted to track the suspect while the Charleston County Aviation Unit provided observation from the air. The suspect was not located and perimeter was discontinued.
Police are now investigating the crime scene and the suspect is still loose. The victim, who was transported to a local hospital, has not been identified.
Investigators say they have leads on the potential identity of the suspect.
The motive for the shooting and the relationship between the victim and suspect are under investigation.
The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
