NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a man Thursday morning wanted in connection with a shooting and attempted robbery at a North Charleston hotel earlier this week.
North Charleston police was arrested 25-year-old Jason Rashard Lane at 11:30 a.m. without incident at a Johns Island residence.
Lane was wanted for Monday's shooting that took place at the Comfort Suites hotel on North Forest Drive. Lane is charged with Attempted Murder and will have a bond hearing Friday.
Police said Wednesday that they had identified a suspect in the case that left one man shot.
When officers responded to the Comfort Suites hotel Monday morning, they located a 22-year-old man laying on the floor in the main lobby. Officers say the victim appeared to have a gunshot wound to his lower back and to his lower leg.
Investigators say the suspect shot the victim during an attempted armed robbery. According to police, the victim was on a path near the woods behind the motel when a guy with a gun apparently tried to rob him. There was an argument, then gunshots were fired
