MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- An employee at the Sonic on Highway 17 was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday night. Video shows the two suspects approached the restaurant from between two dumpsters near the back of the property.
Investigators say two masked men, both wearing dark grey hoodies, dark blue bandanas, dark pants, gloves and sunglasses entered the business, pointed a handgun at an employee and took the entire cash drawer from the register.
The employee had just finished counting the cash for the night. It was just after 10 p.m.
The employee said one of the men pointed a gun at him told him to sit down. Then he said the other man told him to lay down as they took the money. The victim said the two masked men asked him for his wallet and when he said he didn't have one, they ran out of the business.
Officials say the incident is still under investigation.
