NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are looking for two men who robbed a gas station convenience store on Dorchester Road Wednesday morning.
North Charleston police say that two men entered the Li'l Cricket, located at 6901 Dorchester Road, around 6:26 a.m.
One of the men approached the front counter with a knife and demanded that the clerk open the safe, police say.
Police said the clerk told the men that it would take at least 15 minutes to open the safe. While the clerk was opening the safe, customers pulled up in the parking lot, scaring the robbers into fleeing the scene without any money.
They did steal several packs of Newport cigarettes. Both suspects were wearing all black clothing and black scarves on their faces.
This investigation is ongoing.
