SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) – Summerville police are investigating an armed robbery in which the victim says a man waiting inside his car put a gun to his head and robbed him.

According to Summerville police, the armed robbery occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a pizza take-out restaurant on Trolley Road.

The victim told police that the suspect was in the back driver's side seat, but the victim did not see him as he entered the car. The victim said that as soon as he sat down, the suspect demanded money and put the barrel of the gun to the his head.

After the victim gave the suspect $40, his wallet and a cell phone, the suspect got out of the car and walked toward the rear of the business. The victim told police that he then turned right towards Publix and then was gone.

Police officers used a K-9 unit to track the suspect, but after following a trail, were unable to locate the suspect. Officers did recover a knit cap from the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5'8". He weighs about 165 pounds and was wearing orange shorts.
