CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -South Carolina Probation and Parole agents in Charleston County are searching for Nerzio Bellman.

Bellman, 40, is wanted for a probation violation after a conviction for assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

"He had a sentence of three years, suspended to five years probation," said Probation and Parole Agent in Charge Mitchell Ray.

Bellman stopped reporting to his probation officer in May of last year.

"Agents from the department did a diligent search of the area, trying to locate Mr. Bellman," said Ray. "We found his home to be vacant, his employment to be vacated."

Agents say one reason Bellman may have stopped seeing his probation officer is that he was ordered to pay his victim $3,600 in restitution.

Bellman's criminal background includes convictions for assault and criminal domestic violence.

"It's a public safety issue and based on his history and his propensity for violence, we definitely want to capture this gentleman before he hurts someone else," Ray said.

Bellman stands 5'5" and weighs about 152 lbs.
