DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - State probation and parole agents are looking for Michael Southern.

Southern, 25, is wanted for violating probation and youthful offender parole.

"He's on probation for malicious injury to personal property and on youthful offender parole for burglary and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature," said Probation and Parole Agent In Charge Micky Talley. "He's been on probation for quite awhile and he has a blatant disregard for supervision."

Southern has a long criminal record that includes a history of drug use.

"He's certainly a criminal. He has a history of burglarizing. There's going to be future victimization if we don't get him off the street," Talley warned.

Agents say Southern called them many times to find out the date of his scheduled court appearance, but he never showed up.

"I'm positive he was fearful that he has four years hanging over his head and has to serve those four years in the penitentiary so he never showed up for his hearing," said Talley.

Southern also is wanted by Dorchester County deputies for financial card fraud.

He may have fled to Ohio, but he has family in Dorchester County, and may be back in the Lowcountry.

Southern stands 6'0" and weighs about 215 lbs.
