CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -Charleston County sheriff's deputies are looking for 35 year old Juan Garcia.

Garcia is wanted on a charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor first degree in connection with sexual assaults on a four year old girl.

investigators say the assaults began back in 1998 on River Road on Johns Island and continued for six years.

"It occurred repeatedly, repeatedly over several years," said Charleston County Sheriff's Deputy Reggie Sharpe. "It was a horrible crime indeed. It involved two separate individuals. One was apprehended."

The second suspect Garcia got away. Authorities say in 2005, the victim came forward and pinned the sexual assaults on Garcia.

"Sadly enough, sometimes when these molestation cases occur, when the victim is of young age, it's often years later when they come forward," said Sharpe.

Sharpe said Garcia may have fled to Mexico after the crimes, but deputies heard he may be back in the Lowcountry.

Garcia also goes by Johnny Garcia.

He stands 5'0" and weighs about 150 lbs.
