CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC - Charleston County Sheriff's deputies are looking for Melissa McCaskill.

McCaskill is wanted on a charge of filing a false police report. Deputies say she lied about being beaten up by a former boyfriend.

"Ms. McCaskill reported to the sheriff's office that she had been beaten about the head inside her residence, that resulted in her ex-boyfriend being arrested for that offense," said Charleston County Sheriff's Deputy Reggie Sharpe.

But deputies say when the ex-boyfriend went before a bond judge, McCaskill told the judge she made up the story about being beaten.

"There's absolutely no question, when you outright lie and have somebody maliciously arrested, then we'll hold your feet to the fire to answer for that as well," said Sharpe.

McCaskill stands 5'7" and weighs about 110 lbs.

Her last known address was on Lantern Street in Charleston.
