NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.- On Saturday NCPD Investigators made contact with suspect Martha Ramirez-Castillo. During the contact officers learned that Ramirez-Castillo was in Gwinnett County Georgia and had been seen with murder suspects Luis Mercado and Ablardo Solento-Martinez. Based on this information, Investigators made contact with the Gwinnett County Sheriffs Office. Ramirez-Castillo was located and taken into custody without incident. She will be extradited back to the Charleston area, on the charge of Accessory After the Fact of Murder, after an extradition hearing.
Suspects Luis Mercado and Ablardo Solento-Martinez remain at large.
On October 8, 2010, at approximately 2:00 am Officers responded to the Fuel Express at 5995 Rivers Avenue in reference to a fight and shots fired. Officers arriving on scene located a Hispanic Male on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound and unresponsive. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
During the on going investigation Detectives identified four Hispanics male and a Hispanic female that were responsible for shooting the victim. Based on the investigation and witness statements the suspects were charged accordingly.
Murder warrants were issued for: Luis Angel Tellez Mercado and Abelardo Solento-Martinez. Edgar Diego and Jose Efrain Dzib Camara were both arrested and charged with Accessory After the Fact of Murder.
