NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - Dorchester County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who robbed a check-cashing business this morning on Ashley Phosphate Road.
Capt. Jim Nettles said the suspect entered Check Into Cash at 3748 Ashley Phosphate Road about 10 a.m. with a dark-colored revolver and demanded cash.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, between 5-foot and 5-foot-5-inches tall and wearing a hoodie. The amount of money stolen has not been determined, according to Nettles.
The suspect took the money, exited and ran around the back of the building, setting off a 1 1/2 hour search. North Charleston police helped set up a perimeter and deputies used a K-9 unit during the search, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
