CHARELSTON, SC - City of Charleston Police have named a suspect in the April shooting of a College of Charleston student in downtown Charleston.
Travis Coaxum, 25, is wanted on a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill, said Charles Francis, police public information officer. Coaxum is 5 feet 7 inches tall and 155 pounds. Police said he is known to frequent 3863 Reddin Road in North Charleston.
A gunman confronted freshman Peter Vagnoni on St. Philip Street just before midnight April 27, and they argued. The man shot Vagnoni in the stomach.
Vagnoni was taken to Medical University Hospital and survived the wound.
